Heyo welcome back! Glad you’re here today. This week’s article, I’ll be refocusing on my goals (exercise + music) and also generally positive things that have happened over the past few weeks. I think I’ve been focusing too much on the negative, so let’s change it up this week!
Let’s get into it!
-Exercise-
Let’s start with exercise! Starting this past week, I’ve kind of got myself back on track which I’m proud of. I’ve realized that in order to kind of get out of my slump, I need to get into a routine that gives me enough momentum to keep the ball rolling so to speak.
So, this past week I decided to begin a push, pull, leg routine in the gym. I went on Wednesday and Friday and will stay on a routine of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It’s been going well so far. It’s challenging, yet fulfilling at the same time. In addition to the gym routine, one thing I also started doing is 20 push ups right after waking up. I think this habit is beneficial because it really jump starts me into the day, which is something I really need.
Overall, I believe that exercise is very important in improving mental health and stability. I’ve had days where I felt down until I exercised.
There was this one day where after the gym, I felt a rush of energy, so I spontaneously decided to venture off-campus towards the cornfield. It was something I had always wanted to do and finally being able to do it was very fulfilling. I also sat down a while in the Japan House and arboretum and wrote a song about it. I saw cows and horses. I saw a beautiful sunset. It was great.
-Music-
This week’s music update is a culmination of a few week’s practice on Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”
Hope you enjoy!
That’s it for this week’s update. See you next week!
